Abroad in Perth Australia - Wanju Boodjah (Welcome to Country)

The summer program in Western Australia is based at Murdoch University in Perth, Australia. This is a five week course running from June 12 to July 10 (check program dates for exact arrival and departure dates) is ideal for students looking to experience Australia at its best. In this unique five week 6-credit course, students will gain a Nyungar perspective on:
Students will have the opportunity to go on field trips to places of cultural significance, such as Walyuap (Fremantle), Wadjemup (Rottnest Island) and Wardandi (Yallingup) during one of the most important of the Noongar's six seasons - Makuru (winter), when the rains signal the cleansing of the land, river and ocean. Along the way you'll engage in comparisons of colonial and idigenous discourse, perspectives and reflection.

The 2006 program fee for the Summer in Western Australia
is $4,000, which includes:

Both undergraduates
and graduates students with a 2.75/4.0 GPA are eligible for the Summer
in Western Australia program. A $50.00 application fee is due with the
application materials. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis, but
the final day to apply is March 15th. Please note that enrollment is limited
and spaces will be confirmed on a first come, first served basis. Click
