Most study abroad students at Macquarie will take between three to four classes. Each week you will be expected to attend one large lecture and 1 or 2 smaller tutorial sessions for each course you are enrolled in. Macquarie has three colleges: College of Commerce, the College of Humanities and Social Sciences, and the College of Science and Technology - within which you will have the ability to choose from over 70 academic areas.
Internship Semester Abroad Option
Macquarie offers CIS students the option to participate in either a 3 credit (10 hours per week) or 6 credit (20 hours per week) internship while studying at Macquaire. The range of internships in which you can participate is extensive and includes the areas of business, communication, public relations, journalism, plus many more. You will work closely with an academic supervisor, write a comprehensive paper and conduct a presentation. A final evaluation will be completed by your on-site internship supervisor and will be work 40% of you grade.
