Whether you choose to live in a shared apartment or dorm with international students, or you live with a Spanish family, your time in Barcelona will be wonderful. Barcelona is a Mecca for culture enthusiasts; the city offers a dazzling array of art exhibitions, theater events, dance, film festivals, concerts, lectures, etc. There is something of interest happening every single day in the city. The concert series at The Palau de la Musica Catalana and the Liceu Opera House host top notch performers from all over the world; The Caixa Forum has several museums throughout the city that offer free world class exhibitions all year round, and on the first Sunday of every month, the city opens the doors to all municipal museums, free of charge, as a way of encouraging people to enjoy the best of what the city has to offer.
Students studying with CIS at the UAB will be offered a variety of opportunities to experience local culture and traditions through events organized exclusively for them the CIS site director. Such activities may include:

Museum & market visits
Spanish Cinema night
Trip to the beach
One day trip in Catalonia is included in the program fee. Additional excursions may be offered based on student interest and at a reasonable price.
Students have the support of the CIS site director from orientation through the departure and including the re-entry workshop titled “How to use your study abroad experience to get a better job”.
